An American magazine has published what is believed to be the first photo of Patrick Swayze since news of his cancer broke – in which the actor is shown smoking a cigarette.
The National Enquirer has published this picture of the former ‘Ghost’ and ‘Dirty dancing’ star, who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in January.
The photos were taken on March 10, after Swayze left the Stanford Cancer Centre. The magazine reports Swayze has been a “three-pack-a-day smoker for years”, and states that smokers are twice as likely to get pancreatic cancer than non-smokers.
Swayze is currently undergoing chemotherapy, but is reportedly yet to suffer any side effects from the treatment.

Patrick Swayze has five weeks to live, The NATIONAL ENQUIRER has learned.
In a shocking world exclusive, The NATIONAL ENQUIRER has uncovered the devastating news that the beloved Hollywood actor and dancer was diagnosed in late January with pancreatic cancer that has spread to other organs.
Swayze's rep confirmed the sad news Wednesday. Full details are in the print edition of the NATIONAL ENQUIRER that goes on sale Thursday.
For the past month, Patrick, 55, has been traveling to Stanford University's prestigious cancer center in Palo Alto for radical chemotherapy, but his doctors are no longer optimistic that the treatments will be successful.
Patrick and his wife Lisa Niemi — who both have pilot's licenses — have been flying their private Beechcraft plane into Palo Alto's airport, minutes away from the Stanford Cancer Center, where the actor has received outpatient treatment.
He received three doses of chemotherapy and the tumor shrank, but less than his doctors had hoped for — and Patrick was told he should prepare for the end.
"He was told he could have two more treatments, but his cancer was not responding. In short - they held out little hope for a cure," said an insider.
The man who danced into the hearts of audiences worldwide in the 1980s in Dirty Dancing and then broke them in the poignant love story Ghost in the early '90s has lost more than 20 pounds in the past few weeks and is restricted to a liquid diet because he has trouble keeping down solid food, added the insider.
"It's time to start praying for a miracle."

| Ik was toch wel eventjes stil toen ik hoorde dat hij nog maar 5 weken te leven zou hebben daar ik helemaal leip ben van bijvoorbeeld dirty dancing en er zijn nog meer goede films op zijn conto te schrijven. Echter gisteren op CNN gelezen dat de kuur aanslaat en dat hij "gewoon" aan het werk was, dus van mij van harte beterschap en get it on !!!
Waarde vrienden, cappers, scanners, editors en posters een staande Ovatie en een vermelding in mijn testament wanneer ik jullie werk in de Galerie openstel.

De man die het hart van veel mensen binnendanste in de tachtiger jaren door zijn rol in Dirty Dancing en de love story Ghost, begin jaren negentig, is al tien kilo afgevalen in de afgelopen weken en leeft op vloeibaar voedsel omdat zijn lichaam geen vast voedsel meer vasthoudt.
De Nederlands gesproken theaterproductie met de originele in het Engels gezongen hits gaat op 9 maart 2008 in het Beatrix Theater Utrecht in première. Er zijn al meer dan 100.000 kaarten verkocht voor dit theaterspektakel vol passie, zinderende dans en wereldberoemde muziek.
De cast van Dirty Dancing bestaat uit 39 mensen, onder wie Martin van Bentem (Johnny Castle), Jette Carolijn van den Berg (Baby Houseman), Chris Tates (Jake Houseman) en Anouk van Nes (Marjorie Houseman). Nederland is na Australië, Nieuw-Zeeland, Engeland, Duitsland en Canada het zesde land in de wereld waar de theaterversie van Dirty Dancing te zien is.
