Dreamgirls Three friends from chicogo form the promising group The Dreamettes. Deena Jones, Effie White and Lorell Robinson, together they enter a talent competition. during the competition they meet James "Thunder" Early and they become his back up singers. It doesn't take long of the girls grow to real stars and record there own single. The manager makes some changes in the group. The full figured lead singer Effie is replaced with the much slimmer Deena. Effie doesn't accept that and disides to leave the group. Michelle Morris replaces Effie. According to Page Six, the reason for the break-up of Tracey Edmonds and Eddie Murphy right before/after they’re marriage is: Eddie Murphy. There’s no, “It’s not you, it’s me,” on this one. Instead, Tracey’s pointing the finger right at Eddie saying he became bossy, pushy, demanding and insisted his mother accompany them on their honeymoon.
A friend of Tracey’s said, “She was happy to sign a prenup - she has her own money. She was very accomodating. But then it was like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Eddie became very controlling and they got into a huge fight. He started screaming at her and grabbed her. She was scared.”

Eddie Murphy (46) and Tracey Edmonds (40) are splitting up, just two weeks after their New Year’s Day faux marriage on a private island near Bora Bora.
The ceremony was not legally-binding. The only people who are allowed to be married there are natives, or visitors who have been on the island for at least 30 days, but the pair had said they would make things legit stateside.
Eddie’s rep said:
"After much consideration and discussion, we have jointly decided that we will forego having a legal ceremony as it is not necessary to define our relationship further. While the recent symbolic union in Bora Bora was representative of our deep love, friendship and respect that we have for one another on a spiritual level, we have decided to remain friends.”
