George Clooney has criticised Paris Hilton, saying her financial success doesn't make her a good actress.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Clooney said: "There is a funny thing that happens when you are a young actor. You equate financial success and getting jobs with whether or not you are good at it.

"And it still happens. That's why there is Paris Hilton. Now I'm in trouble with Paris Hilton."

George Clooney has not been asked to be the godfather of Nicole Kidman's unborn baby, his representative has said.

It was reported that the actress was planning to have her baby baptised in a Catholic church and felt her Hollywood friend would be an "ideal" godfather.

But Stan Rosenfield denied that Kidman had made the request, saying: "They are friends, but George was not asked to be the godfather."
