CANBERRA - A cattle farmer in Australia's remote northern outback on Friday said he had found a giant ball of twisted metal, which he believes is space junk from a rocket used to launch communications satellites.

Farmer James Stirton found the odd-shaped ball last year on his 40,000 hectare property, about 800 kilometers (500 miles) west of the northern Queensland state capital of Brisbane.

But Stirton only started inquiring into what the ball of metal really was, and where it had come from, in the past week.

"I was riding out to check some cattle, and I came around the corner and there it was in a paddock," Stirton told Reuters on Friday.

"I know a lot of about sheep and cattle but I don't know much about satellites. But I would say it is a fuel cell off some stage of a rocket."

He said the object was hollow, and covered in a carbon-fiber material. He has contacted some U.S.-based aerospace companies to try to find out what the object really is.

Sydney's Powerhouse Museum said it was not uncommon for people to find spacejunk in remote areas of Australia.

In 1979, large parts of the Skylab space station fell to earth near a tiny outback town in Australia's west. A local council sent NASA a ticket for littering and then the United States President Jimmy Carter rang a local motel to apologize.

Colin Whitmill reviews: It's best to take this book one chapter at a time to aid absorbing its powerful, logical arguments against the problem of debt-based finance.

An immediate and positive response to the challenges it presents will likely have hands reaching for wallets, purses, piggy-banks, direct debit forms and cheque books to aid those fighting for the sane reforms which Mike Rowbotham suggests.

He explores the simple method of creation, not of money, but of debt and how it affects multi-national companies, farmers, consumers, in fact everyone. The only debt-free money created in Britain -- coins and notes -- is 3 per cent of the total supply.

FINANCIAL FLUMMERY
A reader of this valuable contribution to monetary and economic debate will be much better able to see through the rhetoric and flummery masquerading as wisdom emanating from politicians, conventional economists and news media experts.

The author notes that "our government officials, political economists and newspaper columnists appear intellectually content with the current arrangements, oblivious to the depth of crisis that economics presents to the world.

"They still happily argue about the dangers of 'overheating' or needing to 'cool off', as if an economy that functions along the lines of a domestic boiler or kitchen toaster provides an acceptable basis for co-ordinating human activity."

"It is assumed by everyone -- and clearly by economists -- that money is a neutral and accurate medium; that money does no more than reflect the economic facts.

"It is assumed by almost everyone that the financial figures provide an accurate statement of our affairs. All the economists, politicians, businessmen and industrial experts agree, so we simply must cut expenditure, become more competitive, improve productivity, start new enterprises, create more jobs, export more to other countries. They are saying the same in ..." (and here you can list every country you can think of).

The author explains that modern money actually operates within its own detached and limited mathematical world. It projects its own version of 'the facts'; its own version of an economy; its own reality. It tells us what we can and cannot do; it tells us what we can and cannot afford. But these amount to demonstrably false, irrelevant and misleading 'facts'.

ELECTIONS DOMINATED BY ECONOMIC NIT-PICKING
He observes that "every budget and every election is dominated by spending plans, spending cuts, savings made here, and accusations of money wasted there. 'The other party's spending plans don’t add up' they all chorus. Scores of economists and political commentators then huddle round their calculators to check whether one party's promises have more financial credibility than the other's. With a triumphant shout, the claim is made that 'there isn't enough money'... So we can't do it. Money is trusted. Money is accepted as the final arbiter. Money is the overall economic truth; the limiting reality. And if there isn't enough money, well that's that ...

"For any one person not to have enough money is rational; for an entire economy constantly not to have enough money, and thereby prevented from doing what it is clearly capable of doing, is absurd."

Let's not be taken in by the cries of we must have economic growth, inward investment, or the bleating for more jobs. The reality, a simple counting of numbers, will show that there is not, and never can be -- under the debt finance system -- enough money to pay off the debts.

Rowbotham explains how the only way to provide economic improvement -- under the debt finance system -- is to create more and more debt, but it is a false way, as the time of reckoning has to come eventually.

In order to prevent bankruptcy, manufacturers, shop owners, the self-employed and others, who are all in debt, must stay one step ahead of ruin by winning, at the expense of others, and maintaining "market share".

The family run corner shop is threatened because bigger firms have caught up with their advantage of being open all hours. Flexible working hours, and all the other encroachments upon leisure time, social time and rest time have all given added advantage over rivals in the fight for "market share".

Other opportunities for advantage over competitors are low wages and tax breaks. This fight for "market share" and money to stave off bankruptcy is echoed in the international market -- that's why we have the WTO and MAI to enable strong nations and multi-nationals to exploit advantages. It's all caused by the debt finance system.

EXPORT WARFARE IS A RESULT OF DEBT
The chapter on Export Warfare gives an understanding of why conventional economists and politicians bleat about exports.

Being a net exporter means the economy is vigorous and healthy, although effectively losing real wealth with a net outflow of goods because it provides a supply of "debt free money boosting domestic purchasing power".

"The modern battle over exports is really nothing to do with trade at all. It is a battle for sales growth and solvency in a world dominated by debt."

A CONSPIRACY OF ERROR
The author is more charitable towards those who operate conventional economics than perhaps others may be inclined.

The trouble, as the author finds, is that "the majority of politicians and officials who operate financial systems, like the majority of economists, simply do not understand it. Or, at least, they understand it only from their limited perspective and on their own terms."

While some see the control of the world in the hands of a scurrilous banker cartel, the Bank of International Settlements, the secretive Bilderberg group and so on, the author rejects the concept of a conspiracy. If there is a conspiracy, then he argues it is one of error. What dominates the world, he believes, is a philosophy that economic problems can best be solved by "experts", not by those directly affected. The errant philosophy is that where the policy fails, it is not decentralisation that is needed, but more centralisation. "All this boils down to the belief that those in power know best."

But Rowbotham does not always dispel charitable largesse towards those instigators and defenders of the status quo. In a typical concern for those in need, he thunders: "How dare the government force the elderly to sell off their houses or connive to make them pay insurance they cannot afford. It is quite unjustified to seek to impose any charge for care on today's elderly when they have been paying [tax] all their lives on the understanding that, should they need care in their old age, it would be available. The only reason we cannot find this care is because this is a debt economy run on a scarcity of money and our financial statements do not reflect what we can really achieve."

INFLATION CAUSED BY DEBT-BASED MONEY
The chapter on inflation is worth the price of the book alone. The author states that "inflation is not caused by too much money; it is caused by too much debt-money."

He comments: "The whole principle of changing from a debt-based to a credit-based economy [i.e. one supplied with adequate debt-free money] is that money needs to be created, both to provide a stable money stock and to allow repayment of excessive debts.

"As long as it is created free of debt, distributed in the right way, and with parallel supporting measures, such money can be created in complete safety. It will not cause inflation and will simply support the functioning of the economy. The debt-free money distributed as a basic income would not cause spiraling inflation, runaway inflation, soaring inflation, hyper or mega inflation, or supa-dupa-cosmic inflation with flashing lights and sirens. It will not cause inflation because, in a modern economy, inflation is not caused by too much money …"

It is of course not enough to discover the faults in the monetary system. The onus is to suggest an alternative approach, and Rowbotham provides.

Over several years I have studied the written contributions of many social crediters and monetary reformers. This excellent production puts into one volume their combined basic thinking, logic and positive solutions. It is a modern exposition of just what is wrong with our financial system, how it occurred, why it occurred and how the errors can be corrected to benefit all people.

Knowledge is said to be power. And this book gives ordinary folk that power to challenge the economic "wisdom" which emanates from the minds and mouths of Treasury and IMF mandarins. If the mandarins read this book, they may realise they've been wrong all along. But are their minds closed?

AN EYE-OPENING AND INSPIRING BOOK

One way to escape this cycle is to turn our economy from a debt-based to a credit-based one.

If anybody should question whether it is "fair" that the government create such money, let them ask this question: Is it "fair" that we should let private institutions create, with no effort on their part, and then charge us for using -- in the form of interest payments on debt -- 97% of the money in our economy?

Thunderbolts of the Gods

Op 4 januari 2004 zette de marsrover Spirit wiel op de planeet Mars. Drie weken later deed marsrover Opportunity hetzelfde. De opdracht voor de robotjes was simpel: leg alles vast dat er op Mars vast te leggen is en stuur de data terug naar de aarde.

Wetenschappers zaten er allemaal klaar voor. Volgens de berekeningen van de NASA zouden de beide rovers een levenverwachting hebben van 90 dagen. Een datastroom over de 'rode planeet' daalde op de aarde neer. En bleef ook na 90 dagen neerdalen. Nu, 4 jaar later, doen beide rovers het nog zo goed dat de vraag rijst waarom ze het zo goed doen?

Toen de missie begon wisten de rovers 900 watt/uur aan elektriciteit uit hun zonnepanelen per dag op te slaan. Naarmate de maanden vorderden brachten de zonnepanelen van de Spirit nog maar 400 watt/uur per dag en die van de Opportunity 500 watt/uur op. De daling in stroomopbrengst wist men te verklaren omdat er zich steeds meer stof op de panelen verzamelde waardoor er minder zonlicht werd doorgelaten en dus... minder stroomopbrengst. De wetenschappers hielden hun hart vast. Als de energie voorziening zou dalen onder de 150 watt/uur zouden de batterijen leeglopen en een zekere dood voor de rovertjes betekenen.

Maar dan, op 21 december 2004....

Zomaar opeens op nog steeds onverklaarbare wijze had "iets" de zonnepanelen van beide rovertjes schoongemaakt. De metertjes liepen weer op en zowel de Opportunity als de Spirit gingen weer fris aan de slag. Nu, vier jaar later, functioneren de beide rovertjes nog steeds prima. De vraag blijft wat het was dat de zonnepaneeltjes stofvrij had gemaakt.

Tot zover bekend had de schoonmaak gedurende de nachtelijke Mars-uren plaats gevonden en is het schoonmaken minstens vier keer in een half jaar tijd gebeurt. Maar hoe? De wetenschappers kwamen met enkele theorieën:

1. Winden op Mars hebben het stof van de panelen geblazen.
2. Door ijsvorming vormde het stof klompen ijs en is later van de panelen afgebrokkeld.
3. Omdat de rover een heuvel was opgereden was de stof er simpelweg afgegleden.

Hoewel aardige suggesties zijn ze niet echt houdbaar. Blaast aardse wind het stof van je auto? Is na een nachtvorstje het vuil op je auto bevroren en brokkelt het af, of glijdt het stof op de motorkap van je auto af als je een heuvel op rijdt? Niet waarschijnlijk. Waarom zou het op Mars anders zijn?

toch een heel schoon Patfindertje:

Stofduivels?

Maar elektrisch geladen deeltjes (stof) plakken beter op een ondergrond dan niet geladen deeltjes. De hele theorie van de elektronisch geladen stofduivel komt daarmee op een helling te staan. In feite zou een rovertje na een bad in een stofduivel juist meer stof moeten aantrekken. Vergelijk het maar met een opgeblazen ballon die over een wollen trui wordt gewreven. Op deze wijze verzamelen zich elektrische geladen deeltjes en de ballon 'plakt' tegen muren en ramen. Als men het proces zou omdraaien en tot elektrostatische ontladingen zou overgaan dan verliest de ballon zijn 'kleefkracht'. Zouden stofduivels de stof op de rovertjes ontladen hebben? Ook dat lijkt niet waarschijnlijk.

Nu in 2008 weet de NASA nog steeds niet wie of wat de rovertjes ontdaan hebben van stof. Misschien helpt een grenswetenschappelijke kijk op de zaak.
Op Google Video (zie onderstaande posting)kan men de uur durende documentaire 'Thunderbolts of the gods' zien over ons elektrisch universum. Zou alles van het kleinste deeltje tot de grootse galactische formatie met elkaar in contact staan via elektronische circuits?

A lot of you have probably been hearing the 'buzz' about the disappearing bees. Almost every news story prints a quote attributed to Albert Einstein. The quote goes: "If the bee disappeared off the surface of the globe, then man would only have four years of life left."

Animals sense danger and natural disasters, but even if it was human contaminates that were killing them off, it still would bee an atrocity to mother nature.

So why the hexagon.. Why do bees have the ability to sense hyper dimensional etheric energy.. Why have they been disappearing lately.. There have been articles printed that a virus is killing them off.. but in my opinion they are simply hypersensitive to earth vibration.. and as we approach the galactic center.. energies of the earth grid will become five to ten times more photogenically and geometrically advanced. Perhaps the bees sense this.. perhaps they are warning us of great change with their absence. Perhaps we should listen.

The Cinquefoil (from the French, five-part) is a five petaled rose found in Christian symbolism of the Middle Ages. Aleister Crowley combined the rose emblem with the unicursal hexagram to symbolize the divine union, and the magical number eleven. It's interesting to note that the galactic alignment is scheduled for exactly 11:11 on Dec. 21st 2012.. and of course the eleven in 9/11. Tracing between the petals reveals a perfect pentagram.

The famous Sphinx at Giza is facing due East where it aligned with its celestial counter part in the sky Leo (The Lion) at the vernal equinox around 10.500 BC (Time of the Great Flood). This was the time that the summer solstice Sun aligned with the Dark Rift of the Milky Way; it was the time of a Great Celestial Conjunction.

Here we are nearing 2012.. perhaps a Leap of Faith from the Lion's mouth (gate) will usher in the new Eon, as we gradually eclipse the Dark Rift of the Milky Way for the the first time in thousands of years.. We welcome back the Central Sun.

NASA Scientists Get First Images of Earth Flyby Asteroid
January 25, 2008

Scientists at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif., have obtained the first images of asteroid 2007 TU24 using high-resolution radar data. The data indicate the asteroid is somewhat asymmetrical in shape, with a diameter roughly 250 meters (800 feet) in size. Asteroid 2007 TU24 will pass within 1.4 lunar distances, or 538,000 kilometers (334,000 miles), of Earth on Jan. 29 at 12:33 a.m. Pacific time (3:33 a.m. Eastern time).

"With these first radar observations finished, we can guarantee that next week's 1.4-lunar-distance approach is the closest until at least the end of the next century," said Steve Ostro, JPL astronomer and principal investigator for the project. "It is also the asteroid's closest Earth approach for more than 2,000 years."

Scientists at NASA's Near-Earth Object Program Office at JPL have determined that there is no possibility of an impact with Earth in the foreseeable future.

Asteroid 2007 TU24 was discovered by the NASA-sponsored Catalina Sky Survey on Oct. 11, 2007. The first radar detection of the asteroid was acquired on Jan. 23 using the Goldstone 70-meter (230-foot) antenna. The Goldstone antenna is part of NASA's Deep Space Network Goldstone station in Southern California's Mojave Desert. Goldstone's 70-meter diameter (230-foot) antenna is capable of tracking a spacecraft traveling more than 16 billion kilometers (10 billion miles) from Earth. The surface of the 70-meter reflector must remain accurate within a fraction of the signal wavelength, meaning that the precision across the 3,850-square-meter (41,400-square-foot) surface is maintained within one centimeter (0.4 inch).

Ostro and his team plan further radar observations of asteroid 2007 TU24 using the National Science Foundation's Arecibo Observatory in Puerto Rico on Jan. 27-28 and Feb. 1-4.

The asteroid will reach an approximate apparent magnitude 10.3 on Jan. 29-30 before quickly becoming fainter as it moves farther from Earth. On that night, the asteroid will be observable in dark and clear skies through amateur telescopes with apertures of at least 7.6 centimeters (three inches). An object with a magnitude of 10.3 is about 50 times fainter than an object just visible to the naked eye in a clear, dark sky.

Scientists working with Ostro on the project include Lance Benner and Jon Giorgini of JPL, Mike Nolan of the Arecibo Observatory, and Greg Black of the University of Virginia.

NASA detects and tracks asteroids and comets passing close to Earth. The Near Earth Object Observation Program, commonly called "Spaceguard," discovers, characterizes and computes trajectories for these objects to determine if any could be potentially hazardous to our planet. The Arecibo Observatory is part of the National Astronomy and Ionosphere Center, a national research center operated by Cornell University, Ithaca, N.Y., for the National Science Foundation. JPL is a division of the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena.

Asteroid Threatens to Hit Mars

Dec. 21, 2007: Astronomers funded by NASA are monitoring the trajectory of an asteroid named 2007 WD5 that is expected to cross the orbital path of Mars early next year. Calculations by NASA's Near-Earth Object Office at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory indicate that the 164-ft wide asteroid may pass within 30,000 miles of Mars at about 6 a.m. EST on Jan. 30, 2008.

"Right now asteroid 2007 WD5 is about half-way between the Earth and Mars and closing the distance [to Mars] at a speed of about 27,900 miles per hour," said Don Yeomans, manager of the Near Earth Object Office at JPL.

There is a 1-in-75 chance of 2007 WD5 hitting Mars; researchers can't be more confident than that because of uncertainties in the asteroid's orbit. If this unlikely event were to occur, however, the strike would happen somewhere within a broad swath across the planet north of where the Opportunity rover is.

"We estimate such impacts occur on Mars every thousand years or so," said Steve Chesley, a scientist at JPL. "If 2007 WD5 were to thump Mars on Jan. 30, we calculate it would hit at about 30,000 miles per hour and might create a crater more than half-a-mile wide." The Mars Rover Opportunity is currently exploring a crater approximately this size.

Such a collision could release about three megatons of energy. Scientists believe an event of comparable magnitude occurred here on Earth in 1908 in Tunguska, Siberia, but no crater was created. The object was disintegrated by Earth's atmosphere before it hit the ground, although the air blast devastated a large area of unpopulated forest. The Martian atmosphere is much thinner than Earth's so a similar sized impactor would be more likely to reach the ground.

Asteroid 2007 WD5 was first discovered on Nov. 20, 2007, by the NASA-funded Catalina Sky Survey and put on a "watch list" because its orbit passes near the Earth. Further observations from both the NASA-funded Spacewatch at Kitt Peak, Ariz., and the Magdalena Ridge Observatory in New Mexico gave scientists enough data to determine that the asteroid was not a danger to Earth, but could potentially impact Mars.

Because the asteroid has been tracked for little more than a month, there is still some uncertainly about the path it will take. "Over the next five weeks, we hope to gather more information from observatories so we can further refine the asteroid's trajectory," says Yeomans. More data could eliminate or confirm the possibility of an impact.

2007 WD5 Mars Collision Effectively Ruled Out - Impact Odds Now 1 in 10,000

Since our last update, we have received numerous tracking measurements of asteroid 2007 WD5 from four different observatories. These new data have led to a significant reduction in the position uncertainties during the asteroid's close approach to Mars on Jan. 30, 2008. As a result, the impact probability has dropped dramatically, to approximately 0.01% or 1 in 10,000 odds, effectively ruling out the possible collision with Mars.

Volgens analisten van de Russische militaire Inlichtingendiensten is de enorme krater onlangs bij de stad Carancas in Peru niet ontstaan als gevolg van een meteoorinslag, zoals de westerse embedded pers meldde, maar veroorzaakt door het neerstorten van één van de meeste geheime spionagesatellieten van de Verenigde Staten, de KH-13. De KH-13 is bedoeld om hun kernraketten naar hun doel te leiden.

De satelliet is volgens de Russen neergehaald door een toestel van de United States Air Forces 30th Space Wing, gestationeerd op de Vandenberg luchtmachtbasis in Californië.

Volgens de Russische analisten werd de aanval op de spionagesatelliet uitgevoerd door een fractie van het Amerikaanse militaire establishment, die zo wilde voorkomen dat kernwapens worden gebruikt tegen Iran.

Dit zou erop duiden dat er op het moment een bijna openlijke machtsstrijd woedt tussen de twee blokken in de Amerikaanse leiding.

Ook de onopgehelderde gebeurtenissen met de zes atoombommen wijzen volgens hen op een krachtmeting in de Amerikaanse top. De Amerikaanse luchtmacht zou de kernbommen hebben verwijderd van de basis Minot in Noord-Dakota en naar de luchtmachtbasis Barksdale in Louisiana hebben gevlogen om ze uit handen te houden van de fractie die Iran wil aanvallen.

18 jan 2008, 03:10 - EINDHOVEN - De promotie van de Eindhovense onderzoeker Marcoen Cabbolet, die afgelopen woensdag werd 'opgeschort' (zie kader hiernaast), gaat vrijwel zeker niet door.

De Utrechtse Nobelprijswinnaar prof. Gerard 't Hooft laat in zijn door de TU/e gevraagde reactie weinig heel van het proefschrift van Cabbolet.

Waarschijnlijk aanstaande maandag besluit het promotiecollege van de Eindhovense universiteit of zijn promotie alsnog mag doorgaan. Dat lijkt nu echter vrijwel uitgesloten.

Cabbolets eerste promotor (de hoogleraar die de eindverantwoordelijkheid draagt voor de promotie) is de Tilburgse professor Harry de Swart, die aan de UvT geesteswetenschappen doceert, met name logica. Hij noemt de gang van zaken 'een drama voor alle betrokkenen'. De Swart is weliswaar afgestudeerd wis- en natuurkundige, maar erkent dat zijn huidige werkterrein niet veel te maken heeft met de kwantummechanica, de natuurkundige theorie die Cabbolet met zijn proefschrift hoopt te verbeteren. Desondanks rechtvaardigt hij de keuze om Cabbolet aan de wiskundefaculteit te laten promoveren: "Zijn werk is in de grond een wiskundige theorie met een mogelijke natuurkundige interpretatie", aldus de Tilburgse wetenschapper.

Nobelprijswinnaar 't Hooft denkt daar echter anders over. Hij vindt het werk van Cabbolet 'vaag' en verbaast zich erover dat het door de promotiecommissie om te beginnen is goedgekeurd. Volgens 't Hooft stroken bijvoorbeeld de opmerkingen van Cabbolet over antimateriedeeltjes niet met de door natuurkundigen veronderstelde feiten.

De Swart en Cabbolet bestrijden dat. Volgens Cabbolet is zijn theorie 'helemaal geen kwantummechanische theorie'. 't Hooft geeft toe dat hij het proefschrift maar kort heeft bestudeerd, maar vraagt zich wel af waarom Cabbolet kwantummechanische termen hanteert bij het beschrijven van zijn theorie als die niet kwantummechanisch van aard is: "Dat zou hij dan ook niet horen te doen."

Volgens De Swart is het niet uitgesloten dat zijn promovendus het slachtoffer is geworden van een 'richtingenstrijd' in de natuurkunde: "In de theoretische fysica is zeker sprake van bepaalde dogma's. Het aanvallen daarvan is voor een wetenschapper een riskante affaire. Ik zeg niet dat het zo is, maar ik sluit ook niet uit dat het hier een rol heeft gespeeld. Iemand als 't Hooft kan natuurlijk ook best wel gevangen zitten in zijn eigen denkwereld. Ik heb in elk geval, in tegenstelling tot 't Hooft, geen probleem met het herkennen van de fysische interpretatie die Cabbolet aan zijn wiskundige theorie geeft." De hoofdpromotor bekent dat achteraf bezien aan de natuurkundige aspecten van de hypothese meer aandacht had moeten worden besteed: "We hadden wel wat natuurkundigen in de commissie, maar die waren klaarblijkelijk niet van voldoende niveau. Achteraf hadden we er beter ook iemand als 't Hooft voor kunnen vragen."

Voor onderzoeker Marcoen Cabbolet is het zonneklaar waarom zijn voor afgelopen woensdag geplande promotie in het water is gevallen: zijn aanpak strookt niet met de opvattingen van de gevestigde wetenschap in ons land. En daarvoor betaalt hij nu de prijs. "'t Hooft roept allerlei dingen waarvan ik zwart op wit kan aantonen dat ze onjuist zijn", fulmineert hij. In een open brief die hij heeft gestuurd naar de rector magnificus van de TU/e, prof. C. van Duijn, trekt Cabbolet ook flink van leer. Hij noemt het besluit om zijn promotie op te schorten een 'paniekreactie' die 'volstrekt onacceptabel' is voor 'een instelling als de TU/e'.

Dit mag beslist in de geschiedenis boekjes worden beschreven bij gevallen als die van Galileo e.d.

Het is stuitend te zien dat een wetenschappelijk proefschrift wordt verworpen op basis van "aannames", zoals het wordt genoemd. In weze zouden enkel de vorm en de "protocollen" achter het komen tot de wetenschappelijke conclusies mogen gelden, en niet (in 1e instantie) de stellingen ervan, puur op basis van opvatingen die niet op absolute wijze aangetoond zijn.

Toevallig ben ik onlangs nog in de "ketterij" op het gebied van de "aannames" op natuurkundig gebied gedoken. Daarbij bleek onder meer dat het begrip van "anti-materie" volslagen onzin zou zijn. Dat is alvast 1-0 voor Cabbolet.

RIJSWIJK - Een kleine planeet, met de naam 2007TU24, scheert op dinsdag 29 januari vlak langs de aarde. Hij passeert op een afstand van ongeveer 500.000 kilometer. In kosmische termen betekent dit dat hij de aarde op een haar na mist.

Dat heeft sterrenkundige Theo Jurriëns van de Rijksuniversiteit Groningen (RuG) donderdag bevestigd naar aanleiding van een bericht in het AD.

To the Parsee follower of Zarathustra the name of the Devil has very nearly the same signification as to the Christian; yet, as Grimm has shown, it is nothing else than a corruption of deva, the Sanskrit name for God. When Zarathustra overthrew the primeval Aryan nature-worship in Bactria, this name met the same evil fate which in early Christian times overtook the word demon, and from a symbol of reverence became henceforth a symbol of detestation.[98] But throughout the rest of the Aryan world it achieved a nobler career, producing the Greek theos, the Lithuanian diewas, the Latin deus, and hence the modern French Dieu, all meaning God.
If we trace back this remarkable word to its primitive source in that once lost but now partially recovered mother-tongue from which all our Aryan languages are descended, we find a root div or dyu, meaning "to shine." From the first-mentioned form comes deva, with its numerous progeny of good and evil appellatives; from the latter is derived the name of Dyaus, with its brethren, Zeus and Jupiter. In Sanskrit dyu, as a noun, means "sky" and "day"; and there are many passages in the Rig-Veda where the character of the god Dyaus, as the personification of the sky or the brightness of the ethereal heavens, is unmistakably apparent.
This key unlocks for us one of the secrets of Greek mythology. So long as there was for Zeus no better etymology than that which assigned it to the root zen, "to live,"[99] there was little hope of understanding the nature of Zeus. But when we learn that Zeus is identical with Dyaus, the bright sky, we are enabled to understand Horace's expression, "sub Jove frigido," and the prayer of the Athenians, "Rain, rain, dear Zeus, on the land of the Athenians, and on the fields."[100]
Such expressions as these were retained by the Greeks and Romans long after they had forgotten that their supreme deity was once the sky. Yet even the Brahman, from whose mind the physical significance of the god's name never wholly disappeared, could speak of him as Father Dyaus, the great Pitri, or ancestor of gods and men; and in this reverential name Dyaus pitar may be seen the exact equivalent of the Roman's Jupiter, or Jove the Father. The same root can be followed into Old German, where Zio is the god of day; and into Anglo-Saxon, where Tiwsdaeg, or the day of Zeus, is the ancestral form of Tuesday.

Treaty means danger of 'legalized totalitarism' in EU near future.

13 december 2007, representatives of all EU countries signed the new "mini-treaty" for a EU constitution... errr.... "treaty".

2 referendae gave a "NO!" to its original version.

With the exception of the United Kingdom, Ireland, Denmark, Poland, Portugal, the Czech Republic and Sweden, where ratification of the EU constitution was delayed long enough, in all the other countries ( 20 ! ) the original version of this EU "treaty" (in reality a "covert" revision of all national constitutions that it will overrule) was passed through and ratified without democratically consulting the people.

The present revised version is hardly different from the previous one. Yet it is signed without ANY referendum in 26 countries! The only country where a referendum will be done is Ireland... The only reason why a referendum will be held in Ireland is that it is required by the Irish constitution (see a.o. this Wiki info), and that the requirement seems to be upheld (just as similar requirements SHOULD have been upheld in most other countries, as the EU treaty effectively overrules, and thus reforms ALL national constitutions).

If the treaty will be ratified by all EU countries, then basic human and even certain trade freedoms may soon be severely restricted (in many cases trade could be restricted for smalller companies, and companies that lack sufficient capital to satisfy the many harassing EU regulations). This will have been realized through a completely ANTI-democratic process, by a handfull of individuals that have slyly manipulated the European political system(s) and the media.

Do we have to go through THIS again?

Maybe we have...

The new mottos now have to be:

ABOLISH ALL EU LEGISLATION!

ABOLISH ALL EU TREATIES! (at least abolish all those that deal on more than free trade between European states)

RESTORE NATIONAL SOVEREIGNTY AND INTRODUCE INDIVIDUAL SOVEREIGNTY!

Our hope is on Ireland, where a final referendum will be done over this "treaty" curse...

BRUSSEL - Waarschijnlijk zullen de EU-leiders, als ze vandaag in het Jeronimos-klooster in Lissabon bijeenkomen voor de plechtige ondertekening van het Hervormingsverdrag, wel even benauwd terugdenken aan een andere indrukwekkende locatie die ze ooit bezochten: het Romeinse Capitool. Daar zetten zij drie jaar geleden hun handtekening onder de Europese Grondwet, die vervolgens door de Fransen en de Nederlanders werd afgeschoten.

Met de ondertekening van het Hervormingsverdrag, een afgeslankte versie van de Grondwet, hopen de leiders definitief een einde te maken aan de identiteitscrisis die Europa overviel na het ‘nee’ van de Franse en Nederlandse burgers.

In Brussel werd na het afspringen van de Grondwet somber voorspeld dat de Europese Unie onbestuurbaar zou raken als gevolg van de uitbreiding met tien nieuwe landen, nog maar een paar maanden eerder. Zonder de Grondwet zou het hele besluitvormingsapparaat vast komen te zitten.

Maar in de praktijk blijkt er nauwelijks sprake te zijn geweest van een impasse. Volgens een onderzoek van professor Helen Wallace, een EU-expert van de London School of Economics, is het aantal keren dat het Europees Parlement al in eerste lezing akkoord ging met een wetsvoorstel flink toegenomen sinds 2003. Ook is het aantal wetsvoorstellen dat per jaar definitief wordt goedgekeurd, nauwelijks afgenomen. In 2003 waren het er 195, in 2006 ging het om 183 wetsvoorstellen. ‘De praktijk toont aan dat de institutionele processen binnen de EU vrij goed opgewassen bleken tegen het effect van de uitbreiding’, concludeert Wallace in haar studie.

Opvallend is ook dat de Europese Commissie nauwelijks minder actief is geworden na het nee tegen de Grondwet: in 2003 lanceerde de Commissie 491 wetsvoorstellen, niet veel meer dan vorig jaar. Toen waren het er bij elkaar 482.

Sinds het echec van de Grondwet heeft de Europese Commissie onder voorzitter José Manuel Barroso het accent wel verlegd. Geen grootscheepse Europese projecten meer, maar vooral consumentvriendelijke initiatieven, zoals de maatregel om de torenhoge tarieven voor mobiel bellen tussen de EU-landen naar beneden te krijgen. Ook de reuzenboetes die eurocommissaris Kroes links en rechts uitdeelt aan kartels en de milieuvoorstellen van de Commissie passen in die strategie.

Langzamerhand begint de Commissie haar vleugels weer verder uit te slaan. Zo lanceerde eurocommissaris Frattini (Justitie en Immigratie) dit najaar een voorstel voor een blue card, de Europese tegenhanger van de Amerikaanse green card, waarmee immigranten in de EU aan de slag zouden moeten kunnen gaan.

Vooral op het terrein van justitiële samenwerking moet het nieuwe Hervormingsverdrag de Europese Unie meer slagkracht geven. Het vetorecht komt op dit gebied te vervallen, zodat het makkelijker wordt besluiten te nemen. Ook krijgt de EU een permanente voorzitter, die maximaal vijf jaar kan aanblijven.

De bedoeling is dat de nieuwe voorzitter van de Raad (de vergadering van de EU-landen) voor meer continuïteit zal zorgen, maar bij de Commissie wordt met enige zorg naar de nieuwe constructie gekeken. ‘Als ze daarvoor iemand als ex-premier Blair aanwijzen, zal het Barroso nog moeilijk vallen onder diens schaduw uit te komen’, zegt een Commissiemedewerker.

Maar gaat het dit keer wel allemaal door?, zullen sommige leiders zich wel afvragen als ze vandaag hun handtekening zetten onder het document. Wat dat betreft ziet het er momenteel redelijk gunstig uit voor de pleitbezorgers van het Hervormingsverdrag, dat na de ondertekening verder het leven ingaat als het Verdrag van Lissabon.

De grootste brokkenmakers, Nederland en Frankrijk, hebben inmiddels besloten geen referendum te houden over de nieuwe tekst. Ook de Britse premier Gordon Brown is vastbesloten het verdrag niet aan de kiezer voor te leggen, ondanks alle druk van de Conservatieven. Volgens hem heeft Londen op zoveel terreinen een uitzonderingspositie weten te bedingen dat er niets wezenlijks aan de verhouding met Brussel verandert.

Deze week besloot ook Denemarken geen referendum te houden. Onder premier Anders Fogh Rasmussen beweegt het land dichter naar de Europese Unie toe. Hij vindt dat het tijd wordt de uitzonderingspositie die Denemarken op justitie- en defensieterrein heeft, ter discussie te stellen. Verder wil Rasmussen dat zijn land ook de euro invoert.

Ironisch genoeg is het juist het pro-Europese Ierland dat het grootste risico vormt. Dat land moet volgens de grondwet wel een referendum houden, maar de politieke leiders beginnen zich nu benauwd af te vragen hoe dat zal aflopen. Volgens de opiniepeilingen heeft het ja-kamp maar een kleine voorsprong op het nee-kamp, terwijl de meeste kiezers nog niet weten hoe ze zullen stemmen. Het zou voor Brussel wel erg bitter zijn als juist Ierland ook dit verdrag de nekslag toedient.

Noot:

Toen er geen nw verdrag was veranderde er niets. Alles ging gewoon door.

Wel werden een paar zaken aangepast om de consument te paaien. Telefoon tarieven ed.

In de media blijft er gewoon sprake van een afgeslankt verdrag terwijl dat niet zo is. Het is meer verhuld in aanhangsels en directieven.Daar wordt door de mainstream media nooit over gesproken. Bovenstaand artikel is typisch voor de nederlandse media-kranten. Tendentieus.

Alle hoop is nu gevestigd op Ierland.

En nu maar duimen voor de tegenstanders van het verdrag in Ierland. Dat moet kunnen lukken.

ABSOLUTE proof French and US governments knew of 9-11 plans.

This week, French journalist Guillaume Dasquié was arrested by French secret services, and was threatened with a conviction for "terrorist"
activities. This serious and respectable journalist specializes in defence and "intelligence" matters, and is a regular contributor of "Le Monde",
France's most prominent newspaper. He dared to write an article in that newspaper, exposing the fact that the French DST (secret service) knew
long before september 2001 about Osama Bin Laden's plans to hijack planes to plant them into targets on US soil.

Dasquié got hold of documents of the DST that proved the exact plans were already known in January 2001!

Since French and US secret services work closely together, this means that it MUST be understood that the American services were
notified of all details of the planned attack, far before 911, contrary to the claims of the US government. Typically, it is commonly considered
unthinkable and would have been considered a grave error if the French secret services would NOT have notified the US secret services.

In fact, it looks like Dasquié's arrest was instigated by US authorities, not knowing how thorough his article was and the quality of his evidence (if
they would have known how solid the evidence is, they may have thought twice about having him arrested, but rather spent efforts on trying to
decredit him and his source).

The DST arrested and threatened Dasquié (more than 8 months after publication of the article), in order to find out who his source was. French
journalists are protected by law so that they don't have to reveal their sources. Despite this fact, French authorities threatened Dasquié to hold him
in jail for at least several months if he would not reveal at least 1 name (which forms an abuse of the legal margins that authorities and the DST
have, and that are normally meant for entirely different purposes - a criminal practice that is completely in the style of similar criminal practices by
the US government). This is not only a form of torture, in France it's technically completely unlawful, and a grave sign of France being on the road to
totalitarism.

It is common practice for the DST to deliberately leak certain "secret" files to journalists, in order to attract attention on certain matters, for
strategical reasons. But here, clearly, the leak was not authorized by the higher hierarchy.

The fact that the DST found it necessary to arrest and intimidate Dasquié PROVES that the leaked documents are authentic.

With this absolute confirmation of the DST, we can therefore now be TOTALLY and ABSOLUTELY 100% SURE, that the American authorities at least
let 911 happen ON PURPOSE, and willfully let thousands of their civilians die.

Why?

That question has already received many valid answers which I will not get into here. From now on, the only real question that we have to ask
ourselves is: to what extent have the 911 events been organized and/or orchestrated by American and Israeli secret services? Did they merely chose
not to defend against the hijacking of the planes, or were the attacks ordered and fully organized by these services themselves, where we will
remind the commonly known and admitted fact that Bin Laden was a paid CIA agent.

Also, it's a proven fact that the Israeli secret services knew exactly what was to happen on 911, and even knew one of the targets: the WTC. 5
agents of the Mossad were sent out to observe the WTC strike at exactly the right time, and exactly the right spot, as has been admitted by 3 of
them, on Israeli National TV! See this video and this topic.

By the way, don't bet on the French newspaper Le Monde to bring out more of these kind of revelations. Its policies have been refashioned, and one
of the members of its "Committee of Surveillance" is presently the brother of French president Sarkozy... (see a.o. this article )
