Miley Cyrus has launched a new charity in honor of her late grandfather - and is auctioning off a date with her to kickstart the fundraising.

The Pappy Cyrus Family Foundation is named after Cyrus' paternal grandfather Ron, who died in 2006, and aims to help deprived children across the U.S. by providing improved health care, education and community support.

And Cyrus has taken the first step to raise money for the organisation by giving fans the chance to accompany her to the premiere of her forthcoming film Bolt.

She is also auctioning off several items of clothing from her personal wardrobe.

The sale will begin on internet site eBay on Tuesday night with bidding closing on July 29th, according to Foxnews.com.

Miley Cyrus, 15, is reportedly set to bare all in a new movie.

The 'Hannah Montana' star - who caused controversy when she posed 'topless' for the cover of Vanity Fair magazine earlier this year - is said to be keen to be cast as the lead character in 'Undiscovered Gyrl', which is based on Allison Burnett's new novel.

According to website MSNBC, the movie will almost definitely include nude scenes.

A source said: "It is still early days, but Miley is really interested in the film, which follows the story of a lovable, lost suburban girl who descends into a life of reckless partying and promiscuity. If she does get the part, you will be seeing a lot more of her than you did in the Vanity Fair photos - there would definitely be nude scenes."

Miley Cyrus escaped serious injury when the set of her new "Hannah Montana" movie collapsed.

The 15-year-old was filming scenes for "The Hannah Montana Movie" in Columbia, Tenn., when high winds blew a giant piece of lighting equipment into a Ferris wheel full of people.

Miley Cyrus had just finished filming a scene when the incident occurred.

A number of extras sustained minor injuries and were taken to the hospital, reports TMZ.com.

Hugh Hefner schijnt te hebben geroepen Miley in de Playboy te willen zetten.

Miley Cyrus struts on stage for the first time since steamy photos of her surfaced in a celebrity mag.

The 15-year-old star of TV's "Hannah Montana" performed at Champions Stadium at Disney's Wide World of Sports in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., on Saturday night.

Cyrus took the stage wearing a white tank top and white pants, singing and strutting with back-up dancers who wore black. In her second of three songs, the fedora-topped Cyrus wore a red coat and ripped it off to reveal a vest, tie and tank top.

Miley Cyrus is in verlegenheid gebracht door gewaagde foto's die zijn gemaakt voor het blad Vanity Fair. "Dit was nooit mijn bedoeling en ik wil mijn excuses aanbieden aan mijn fans, om wie ik erg veel geef", stelde het 15-jarige tv-sterretje zondag in een verklaring. De foto's tonen de ontblote actrice uit de kinderserie 'Hannah Montana' met haar borsten bedekt door een doek.

Maandblad Vanity Fair heeft de jonge ster geïnterviewd samen met haar vader, countryzanger Billy Ray Cyrus. Ter ondersteuning van het vraaggesprek werd dochterlief op de gevoelige plaat vastgelegd. "Ik nam deel aan een fotoshoot die 'artistiek' bedoeld was. Maar nu ik het verhaal lees en de foto's zie, schaam ik me zo erg", jammert ze achteraf. Het tijdschrift met het gewraakte artikel ligt volgende maand in de winkel.

Volgens Vanity Fair heeft Cyrus de foto's van de gerenommeerde fotografe Annie Leibovitz in eerste instantie goedgekeurd. Ook haar ouders waren aanwezig op de set en waren blij met het resultaat, zei een woordvoerder van het tijdschrift zondag in The New York Times. Leibovitz is sinds 1983 werkzaam bij Vanity Fair en heeft vele bekende sterren op de foto gezet, onder wie de hoogzwangere Demi Moore.

Cyrus geniet een grote populariteit in de Verenigde Staten. De zangeres en actrice werd recentelijk uitgeroepen tot beste zangeres en beste tv-actrice bij de Kids Choice Awards in Los Angeles. Vanaf volgende maand is ze ook in Nederland te zien. De serie Hannah Montana wordt dan uitgezonden door de kinderomroep Jetix.

Britney Spears has been replaced and stunningly it is not be her little sister Jamie Lynn Spears. While the Spears sisters are still dominating entertainment magazine covers (With Jamie Lynn's pregnancy and supposed engagement and Britney's latest meltdown) it appears some are ready to move on. The new prime paparazzi target is the star of Disney's Hannah Montana, the young superstar Miley Cyrus.

None of this can be very good news for Miley Cyrus. She seems pretty level headed for a fifteen-year-old girl but with a pack of photographers stalking and watching your every move and recording your every word when you are out it could be problematic.

According to the paper over the weekend less than a half a dozen snappers were on the trail of Britney Spears while the number trailing Miley Cyrus was around thirty.

Miley Cyrus has revealed that she feels uncomfortable when men show up to her concerts alone.

The Hannah Montana star, 15, said she loves to see dads at her gigs but finds lone males "creepy".

In an interview with Oklahoma City’s KJ103-FM, she said: "When it's, like, the dad fans, it's so cute! Because they're, like, there with their daughters and they're singing my songs.

"And then there's the guys who watch it on their own. That's when it gets creepier!"

She also admitted that she was embarrassed by dad Billy Ray's dress sense when he rose to fame as a country singer in the 1990s.

She told host J Rod: "There’s a certain time where Dad’s got - we call it the ‘Clint Eastwood pajama look’ - where he’s wearing Ray-Bans but in like… it’s so horrible, it’s the worst. And a really ugly hat with a bow. Oh it’s so bad."

Miley Cyrus unveiled one of her hidden habits during an appearance on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” — she likes to drink ketchup right from the bottle.

"You also drink ketchup, which seems odd," Jay said to Miley, who was a guest on the show along with dad Billy Ray.

"There’s nothing odd about it," the “Hannah Montana” star smiled. "It’s just good."

Apparently not buying into the idea, Jay asked his audience what they thought about a refreshing mouthful of condiment.

"Is it odd to drink ketchup from the bottle?" Jay asked the crowd, drawing a mix of cheers and jeers, and even a nod of agreement from dad Billy Ray.

"But it’s really good. If it tastes good, what does it matter?" Miley replied.

And apparently, not only is ketchup delicious, but it’s also good for you.

"It’s a liquid technically," she laughed. "It’s half the calories."

Without further adieu, Jay grabbed a bottle of ketchup from behind his desk and put the tween star to the test. Sticking by her word, Miley didn’t disappoint, as she quickly grabbed the bottle from Jay.

"Wait, I gotta shake it. Sorry if it gets everywhere," she smiled, as she popped the cap, poured the ketchup in her mouth and proudly showed off her mouth full of ketchup.
